Management Team

Stefano Bacci joined Ambienta in March 2012 as a Partner. Prior to this, he worked for Palamon Capital Partners in London (€1.1 billion capital under management), where he was a partner for nine years (2000-2009). Stefano was in charge of investments in numerous European companies and was involved in some highly successful deals such as Teamsystem (4.1x, 52% gross IRR) and Sigla in Italy, and Dress-For-Less (3.0x, 41% gross IRR) in Germany.
 

Before Palamon, Stefano worked for eight years as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group (Milan, Stockholm, Helsinki), focusing on European industrial companies and contributing to the start-up of the Scandinavian office. In 2010, Stefano co-founded the real estate fund VS Invest Ltd (London), with responsibilities for strategy and fund raising.

He began his career in Switzerland in Ciba-Geigy (Basel), where he started as a scientist in the Applied Mathematics department, with a post-doctoral contract, and eventually progressed to a more commercial role in the plastic polymer stabilizers business unit.

Stefano speaks a number of languages, including German, and brings to Ambienta almost thirty years of experience, gained with European companies in different industrial sectors and countries. More importantly, he has a particularly successful track record as an investor in European small and medium enterprises.

Stefano has a degree in chemical engineering from the Politecnico University of Milan and MBA from the Helsinki School of Economics and MIT in Boston.
