History

Established on June 12th, 2007 and authorized by the Bank of Italy on November 5th, 2007, Ambienta SGR S.p.A. is a new asset management company, focusing on the environment.
Ambienta SGR S.p.A. is listed in the Bank of Italy Register of asset management companies (SGRs) (see Corporate Governance section – “Market Regulator”).

We are convinced that important investment opportunities and developments are being created by the energy and environmental revolution, which has just begun. Moreover, we strongly believe the specific competence is a crucial factor, especially in this sector. Focusing on this need, we have collected a strong management team with an extensive experience in the environmental sector, in addition to experience in the private equity field.

Our first initiative, Ambienta I, is a closed-end private €217.5 mln equity fund, established under Italian law and approved by Bank of Italy on February 4th, 2008. The purpose of the Fund is to invest mainly in unlisted companies operating in the environmental sector (see Ambienta I section – “Portfolio Investments”).
