Agronova
Overview
Agronova is a leading provider of biological protection and nutrition solutions for high-value agricultural crops. The company maintains a strong global presence across Europe and the Americas, supported by six production facilities, five R&D laboratories, and a workforce of c. 250 employees. Agronova products provide material environmental benefits vis-à-vis conventional chemical solutions they substitute, making the Group a environmental sustainability champion in the market it operates in.
Within a fast-growing €21 bn biosolutions market, characterised by a fragmented competitive landscape and high barriers to entry (i.e. complex R&D, regulatory requirements), Agronova stands out as one of the few sizeable and truly diversified players. The acquisition represents Ambienta’s first investment in both the sustainable agriculture sector and the Spanish market.
The partnership will support Agronova in accelerating its growth trajectory, leveraging both organic expansion initiatives and strategic M&A.

Environmental Thesis
In a global landscape increasingly prioritising sustainable practices, Agronova supports the sustainable transition to agriculture by providing biological crop solutions that help reducing reliance on chemical inputs while maintaining and enhancing yields. Agriculture today accounts for approximately 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions, with excessive use of chemical inputs contributing to soil acidification, erosion, and loss of organic carbon - factors that not only degrade biodiversity but also undermine long-term yield potential. Agronova addresses these critical environmental challenges through a differentiated portfolio: biocontrol products substitute the use of pesticides with microbial based alternatives, organic fertilisers provide nutrients from non-chemical sustainable sources, and biostimulants support the absorption of nutrients from the soil, reducing the need for chemical fertilisers. These solutions contribute directly to Pollution Control, Emissions Reduced and Biodiversity Preserved under Ambienta’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) framework.
