Inovara Group
Overview
Inovara Group, headquartered in Sywell, Northamptonshire (UK), is a leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of LED luminaires for residential, landscape and commercial & light industrial applications. The company operates in the sizeable European LED luminaires market underpinned by a number of structural growth drivers and worth >€3.5bn across its largest served markets of the UK, Italy, France and Belgium, with a growing presence in other international markets.
Ambienta originally invested in Collingwood Lighting in February 2021, aiming to leverage its positioning in the UK market as a platform to grow internationally through M&A, and to create a pan-European leader in LED lighting.
Collingwood completed the acquisition of Nobile, followed by further strategic add‑ons including Indigo and IBL, integrating complementary competencies and strengthening the Group’s position as a premium lighting platform. In 2025, the business also rebranded as Inovara Group, bringing the divisions together under a unified platform and bolstering the Group’s position as a pan-European leader in lighting. Ambienta and Inovara continue to assess M&A opportunities to integrate into the Group, reinforcing Inovara’s positioning in served markets and expanding presence in new geographies and channels, to further position the Group on exit as an integrated international lighting platform with the opportunity for further M&A consolidation for Private Equity, and with the scaled access to key European lighting markets attractive to larger international trade players.

Amongst many other benefits, LED lighting consumes less energy, has a longer lifespan and therefore requires less replacement and emits less CO2 emissions in comparison to other alternate lighting technologies such as halogen and fluorescent. LED lighting penetration has a long way to go with only an estimated c. 50% of lighting installations today in Europe using LED technology: with a substantial proportion of the existing installed lighting stock consisting of legacy, less sustainable lighting technologies, there remains a significant benefit from continued LED substitution.
